The History of Dance, Good Fridays: Double Deuce, The Twelves and more

The sun has been shining, cherry blossoms are peeping out – could this be the end of winter? Wiarton Willie groundhog has predicted an early spring this year so you might as well get out there and enjoy all that's going on in Vancouver this weekend. And if it's still cold and wet, we've got some ideas that will get you all heated up.

 The History of Dance

Feb 4 10 pm | Waldorf Hotel                                                                                                                 A great new monthly multi-room party series begins this Friday at the Waldorf. Do the words Graceland, Luv-a-Fair, Red Lounge, Twilight Zone, Chameleon Urban Lounge, Sugar Refinery, Starfish Room, Ms T's and Town Pump mean anything to you? To this Bee they do. Back in the days when Vancouver's independent nightlife flourished, you could find me dancing the night away at these clubs. Now the Waldorf has an event for all those memories, featuring an eclectic and timeless array of dance music—from UK indie rock to American R&B, funk, Jamaican reggae, world-beat, 1960's garage, 1970's pop, black disco, and European electronic—decades and genres will blur together. Songs - some well loved, others, long forgotten - will open your mind to new dimensions. Don't forget to bring your dancing shoes.
