3. The 9th Annual Vancouver Sawan Mela
Aug 13 & 14th | 2-8 PM | Jack Poole Plaza, Canada Place

The Sawan Mela originally began in 2002 in south Vancouver, and now it is set to take over the home of the 2010 Winter Olympic Cauldron. There is sure to be something for everyone at the Sawan Mela. Enjoy savory butter chicken or tangy dosas; have a mini-makeover and henna tattoos. The marketplace would be full of cross-cultural delights to tempt all the senses: delicious smells and aromas, bright, vibrant colours as well as plenty of action: yoga, bhangra and bollywood dance classes. On Saturday evening, there will also be outdoor screening of a bollywood movie "Jab We Met". Thanks Nisha!
