Christmas gift ideas from Vancouver's Holiday Market

Heading into the Christmas season, it's hard to find the perfect Christmas gifts at the mall. A great alternative to those pesky malls is a visit to the Vancouver Farmers Markets' 16th annual Holiday Market, where shopping isn't an errand but a festive community gathering.

Shoppers can interact directly with over 90 vendors, who offer a plethora of holiday treats and crafts, some of them with cheeky names like Bad Girl Chocolates.

The event, held at Croatian Cultural Centre, draws together a community of farmers, food producers and artisans who produce an array of products from handmade chocolates and prepared oils and vinegars to silver jewelry.

The event was a one-day affair on December 17, but if you missed out, a few vendors also participate at the ongoing Winter Farmers Market, which is running throughout the winter season every Saturday at Nat Bailey Stadium on 30th and Ontario street.
