Akufen and Stephen Beaupré sets at Lotus Sound Lounge

Akufen (Marc Leclair), pictured here, seems to have endless creativity.

Akufen (Marc Leclair) is an extremely creative artist. With a mild sentiment related to John Oswald's 'Plunderphonics' - "Audio Piracy as a compositional perogative", Akufen combines the best worlds of minimal house, glitch and techno into microhouse. Akufen uses a technique called microsampling, collecting tiny music samples, only milliseconds long, and building them into integral parts of his beats. Akufen is also a visual artist, and a trip to his web portfolio, or studio interactif signifies the quality of his work. The name Akufen is based on the French word for tinnitus (ringing of the ears - acouphène).
