Glenn Beck propaganda spreading to Canada?

Returning to the incident earlier this year when the gunman attempted to go on a killing spree at Tides' headquarters, full disclosure:  my brother, Joel Solomon, happened to be there that day, as well.  As Krause points out in her article, Joel is a board member and has been involved with Tides for years.  He called me right after the gunman was arrested and told me what had happened.  He was very shaken up.   I went online and read reports.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported that Williams was "mad at left-wing politics" and so:

Convicted felon Byron Williams loaded up his mother's Toyota Tundra with guns, strapped on his body armor and headed to San Francisco late Saturday night with one thing in mind: to kill workers at the American Civil Liberties Union and an environmental foundation, prosecutors say.

After he was wounded and taken to Highland Hospital in Oakland, Williams told investigators "his intention was to start a revolution by traveling to San Francisco and killing people of importance at the Tides Foundation and the ACLU," Oakland police Sgt. Michael Weisenberg wrote in a court affidavit.

Mix mental illness with deranged talk show political vitriol and the cocktail can be deadly.

It's worth reading the rest of Pike's letter to  Beck's advertisers:

I respectfully request that you bring this matter of your company's sponsorship of hate speech leading to violence to the attention of your fellow directors as soon as possible. I believe no responsible company should advertise on Fox News due to its recent and on-going deplorable conduct.

While we may agree to disagree about the role our citizens and our government should play in promoting social justice and the common good, there should be no disagreement about what constitutes integrity and professionalism and responsibility in discourse - even when allowing for and encouraging contending diverse opinions intelligently argued. This is not a partisan issue. It's an American issue. No one, left, right or center, wants to see another Oklahoma City.

The next "assassin" may succeed, and if so, there will be blood on many hands. The choice is yours. Please join my call to do the right thing in this regard and put Fox News at arm's length from your company by halting your advertising with them.
