Bard on the Beach celebrates Shakespeare's birthday April 22 with eggs benedict and season preview

On Thursday, April 22nd, one day prior to Shakespeare’s actual birth date, Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival will celebrate the great playwright’s 446th birthday with their fourth annual fundraising event: BILL’S BIRTHDAY BREAKFAST. This festive and informative morning will take place on April 22 from 7:30 to 9:00 am at the Pan Pacific Vancouver.

While guests enjoy a delicious Eggs Benedict breakfast, the four designers who will create this year’s sets and costumes will share exclusive insights into their artistic visions for the 2010 Bard productions. Mara Gottler and Drew Facey will talk about the costume and set designs for MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING and ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA on the Mainstage, while Sheila White and Pam Johnson will similarly provide details about the Studio Stage mountings of FALSTAFF (blending Henry IV, I & II) and HENRY V.  There will be chances to win door prizes and to purchase prize balloons for tickets to cultural events, restaurants, weekend get-aways and more.

Tickets to this gourmet and artistic feast are $40 per person. Thank you to Grosvenor Canada and the Pan Pacific Vancouver for their support of this event. All proceeds will benefit Bard on the Beach’s Education Programs.

To reserve a seat at Bill’s Birthday Breakfast, call Bard at 604-739-0559 by April 19.
