Bang Bang Bollywood comes to New Westminster

Sher Vancouver is bringing their popular Bang Bang Bollywood fundraiser to Status Nightclub in New Westminster on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at 8:00 pm.  Status is located at 27 Church Street, half a block from the Columbia Skytrain Station behind the Heritage Grill.

Tickets are $10.00 at the door.  To avoid line-ups and guarantee entry it is advisable to purchase advance tickets to this highly anticipated event by emailing Ash of Sher Vancouver at [email protected].

This is the first time that Bang Bang Bollywood will be held outside of Downtown Vancouver.  The previous three Bollywood dance nights were held at Celebrities Nightclub during Pride season with sell out crowds.

Sher Vancouver is a social, cultural, and support organization for LGBT South Asians and their friends, families, and allies.  Sher provides advocacy, information, referral, peer support, outreach, social activities, and volunteer opportunities to its members.  Sher currently has close to 400 fabulous and fun members.

All proceeds from Bang Bang Bollywood will go to support the award winning annual Pride of Bollywood float in the Vancouver Pride Parade and the Sher Vancouver DOSTI Project which is an anti-bullying initiative delivered to high schools throughout the Lower Mainland.

Says Alex Sangha, the Founder of Sher Vancouver, “We are very proud to host an event and be a part of the New Westminster LGBT community.  The queer community is growing steadily in the suburbs and New Westminster is centrally located with excellent access from Skytrain for Sher members and friends and allies travelling from Vancouver or Surrey.”

Sher Vancouver is hoping the people of New Westminster and the Lower Mainland will embrace Bang Bang Bollywood by coming out and showing their support for this fundraiser.  If all goes well, Sher Vancouver will be planning regular events at Status Nightclub.

Get ready for some banging Bollywood beats, Bhangra, and fabulous Top 40 dance music to help you get your groove on.
