#LightUptheRio Is Finally Happening! The moment has arrived. And it's all happening tonight, at 6:00 pm.

You’re invited! Arrive at The Rio Theatre from 5:30 - 6:30 tonight for a celebratory reception (free popcorn!) and unveiling of the gorgeous, beautifully restored piece of classic East Vancouver heritage architecture. 

The Rio Theatre’s programmer and marketing representative Rachel Fox says,We would not have been able to meet our Indiegogo #LightUptheRio campaign goal without the generous support from our extended Vancouver community of movie-lovers and concert-goers, as well as a bevvy of local print, radio, and internet media folks. We thank you... so much!”

Three hundred and forty-two individuals (from 9 countries!) contributed to the fund for a whopping total of $16,320 to help get it done

“If you were one of the magical people who donated, you are welcome to pick up your perks at this time - and enjoy the brand new lights you that are going to light up our corner of Commercial Drive and East Broadway,” said Fox.
